Planet Centauri is a well-crafted game at its core, and the fact that it still needs to figure some things out, well, that’s something all games go through. None the less, the fighting is very one sided when it comes to the thrill, there’s almost none of it, in the beginning at least. You start off digging in the dirt and can end up shooting fireballs or driving a badass robot with large caliber bullets and rocket launchers. There are also some strange boxes that can be found lying on the ground and you can open them only after you kill a certain number of hostiles. Digging and chopping trees are as standard as they get but along the way, in a short time, you start to see the game branch out to different ideas.įor example, chopping off a zombie’s head allows you to wear it, mostly for fashion reasons. You’re left on a planet, alone, accompanied only by an axe and a pickaxe, with which you start to build your survival strategy. Planet Centauri is, at first, the rudimentary 2D sandbox game.
